Your October paycheck should reflect the increases won through our collective power!
Supervisor and Manager scientists not tied to Bargaining Unit 9 should see their October paycheck reflect the Special Salary Adjustments (SSAs) included in Pay Letter 24-31. The SSAs in the pay letter apply to all rank-and-file scientists and the Supervisors and Managers scientists not tied to Bargaining Unit 9 – effective July 1, 2024.
Your October paycheck should also reflect the following pay differentials, that apply to all qualifying Supervisors and Managers:
- Longevity Pay (new, effective retroactive to 07/01/2024)
- Geographic Pay (new, effective retroactive to 07/01/2024)
- Fire Mission Pay (new, effective 10/01/2024)
- Certification Credential Pay for Industrial Hygienists at DIR (new, effective 10/01/2024)
- Bilingual Pay (increases effective retroactive to 07/01/2024)
- Educational Pay (improvements effective 10/01/2024).
The SSAs and pay differentials are in line with many of the wins that rank-and-file Scientists’ fought for, and won, in their CAPS-UAW 2024-27 Memorandum of Understanding (MOU).
Supervisor and Manager scientists in classifications tied to Bargaining Unit 9 (also referred to as Like Pay for Like Work classes) received a pay increase in July 1, 2024, commensurate to that of Bargaining Unit 9 supervisors and managers. That was covered in Pay Letter 24-20. Those supervisors and managers are also eligible, if they qualify, for the above-referenced pay differentials.
If you have yet to receive your SSA or a differential on your October paycheck, or the retroactive back pay associated with them – please immediately report issues with your paycheck here so we can work to identify and resolve any issues with your paycheck.
Do not email the general inbox about paycheck issues, and instead fill out the paycheck support form. For support finding your October earnings statement on Cal Employee Connect, visit the State Controller’s Officer (SCO) resource guide here.
