Our contract fight is truly in the hands of you and your colleagues. The membership is the highest authority of the union. With this in mind, your CAPS-UAW Bargaining Committee requests YOU attend a Membership Meeting this Wednesday, July 24, 2024, 6-7 pm to deliberate and determine our next move(s) at the bargaining table.
You and your colleagues will participate in a straw poll to determine the future direction of our contract fight. Only members attending will be able to participate in the straw poll. It is critical members attend the meeting in-person to demonstrate solidarity with your fellow scientists and to show our power to the State. Here is a list of confirmed in-person meeting locations, also listed below. In-person attendance is highly recommended, though members will also have the opportunity to participate virtually. What to Expect During the Membership Meeting?
- Brief overview from your fellow union members on what options the Bargaining Committee are presenting for input.
- Small group discussion with colleagues.
- Opportunity to provide your input to the Bargaining Committee on what our next steps at the table are, via a straw poll.

- Strategize with other CAPS-UAW members to decide how to win a fair contract for State Scientists.
- Connect with fellow Scientists and strengthen our solidarity.
- Demonstrate your resolve to show up and fight for what a fair contract looks like and relay that to the Bargaining Committee.
